PLAY-DOH Is Getting an Animated Movie

Check out another bizarre weird toy-related animated movie coming with an adaptation of Play-Doh, which is being produced by eOne and Hasbro. This one actually has a couple of talented filmmakers that are going to shape and mold it.

Oscar-nominated screenwriter Emily V. Gordon (The Big Sick) will write the script, and Jon M. Chu is set to produce and he might direct. They shared in a joined statement:

“The team looks forward to bringing the audience a moldable, pliable, iconically-scented story about the importance of imagination.”

Gordon tweeted, “Jon and I had a series of conversations about creativity, imagination, and the purpose of art that were so fun and juicy that I knew I had to do this.” She added: “I’ll get to use some of my play therapist training too, maybe….”

Play-Doh was first introduced in the 1950s, and it’ll be interesting to see what kind of story the film will tell, what the characters will be like, and the journey that they find themselves on.
