The McRib Is Back, Again!

The McRib, a sandwich that McDonald’s declared was gone for good in 2022, is once again rising from the ashes. McDonald’s has now confirmed that the McRib is set to return to select restaurants in November 2023, much to the delight of its ardent fans. This exciting revelation was corroborated by the ever-vigilant Instagram account, Snack-O-Later.

According to a statement from McDonald’s, “It turns out not everyone was ready to say goodbye to the McRib after last year’s Farewell Tour. While it won’t be available nationwide, some lucky fans may find their favorite elusive saucy sandwich at their local McDonald’s restaurants this November.” This announcement has sparked renewed enthusiasm among McRib enthusiasts.

The McRib, renowned for its boneless pork patty smothered in tangy barbecue sauce, topped with onions and pickles, has always been a favorite for a quick, satisfying lunch or afternoon snack. Nevertheless, its intermittent availability and the regularity of farewell tours have somewhat diminished its novelty.

People’s reactions to the return of the McRib, as seen in the comments on Snack-O-Later’s post, have been mixed. Some express confusion and skepticism, likening the McRib to the rock band Kiss, known for their multiple farewell tours. Despite these reservations, McDonald’s continues to bring back beloved classics periodically, such as the recently resurrected spicy McNuggets, which have made limited returns to menus in recent years.

Interestingly, some commenters are not just yearning for the McRib; they also long for another discontinued classic: the Snack Wrap. The Snack Wrap, last seen in the U.S. in 2016, has left a void for those who enjoyed its simple, portable goodness. Some have even voiced their desire for its return, while others point out that it’s still available in Canada, the U.K., or at Burger King, which introduced its own version in August.

If you’re hankering for the McRib, you can now do so without apprehension, knowing that it is likely to make a return in 2024 and beyond. There’s even a McRib Locator website to help you find one near you when the time comes. McDonald’s continues to keep its fans guessing and coming back for more with these limited-time favorites.
