Yuengling And Hershey Partnered Up To Create First-Ever Chocolate Beer

Three cheers for the first-ever chocolate beer!

Yuengling and Hershey’s have partnered up “for the first time in their history” to create a Yuengling Hershey’s Chocolate Porter, according to the beer company’s announcement.

The Chocolate Porter is a “fresh take” on Yuengling’s Dark Brewed Porter, first brewed in 1829.

“America loves beer and America loves chocolate. So, what better way to have a collaboration,” Jennifer Yuengling, a 6th generation brewer said in Yuengling’s video announcement.

“We wanted to do something to delight our fans. So, it’s an opportunity for us as an iconic, American Pennsylvania company to partner with another historic Pennsylvania company,” Wendy Yuengling, 6th generation brewer said in the announcement of the collaboration.

The brewing team “had a really fun time” finding the “sweet spot” between the bitterness of the beer and the sweetness of the chocolate. “Our teams worked real closely with the food scientists and the research and development teams at Hershey and [we] feel like we’ve hit a home-run,” Jennifer Yuengling continued.

Starting in mid-October — for a limited time only — Yuengling Hershey’s Chocolate Porter will be available on draft at the Yuengling brewery in Pottsville, Pa. as well as bars, restaurants, and places in states across the country. Yuengling has created a Find Our Beer tool to help find a location near you.

The indulgent beer is expected to be available in February, according to USA TODAY.
